Heavy calcium carbonate powder preparation

Heavy calcium carbonate (HCC) is usually got by grinding natural carbonate minerals such as calcite, marble and limestone. It is a kind of common powdery inorganic fillers, characterized by high purity, big inertia and excellent thermal stability. It never decomposes below 400℃. Besides, it has advantages such as high whiteness, low oil absorption, low refractive index, low hardness, low abrasion value and good dispersion. It is soft, dry / water-free, non-toxic, tasteless and odorless. In terms of granularity, HCC can be classified into ordinary HCC, ultrafine HCC, wet-grinding ultrafine HCC and surface-modified ultrafine HCC.

At present, heavy calcium carbonate powders produced by domestic grinding mills are often within 100-400 mesh. Most of grinding mills in current market fail to produce the HCC powder with 400-3000 mesh. For this, SBM set up a professional team specially. Based on 30 years’ experience and introduction of advanced European grinding technologies, our team finally developed several kinds of excellent grinding mills aiming at common HCC and superfine HCC powder production. They lay a profound foundation for the growth of domestic HCC industry.
