Gangue is a solid waste generated during coal mining and washing processes, long regarded as an industrial "byproduct." Today, with the maturity of resource utilization technologies, it has evolved into a high-quality raw material in multiple fields such as building materials production, roadbed filling, and chemical fillers. Its wide range of application scenarios has opened up broad prospects for solid waste recycling.

With years of profound expertise in the grinding equipment manufacturing sector, SBM has always focused on customer needs, empowered gangue resource utilization through professional technology, and tailored high-efficiency solutions for customers, achieving the value leap of "turning waste into treasure."

Turning Waste into Treasure

Gangue Grinding Production Line

A customer in Inner Mongolia launched a gangue powder resource utilization project, undertaking the dual mission of reducing regional solid waste and expanding the supply of high-quality recycled raw materials. After multiple on-site inspections and rounds of technical demonstrations, the customer ultimately selected SBM MTW European Trapezium Grinding Mill as the core production equipment, with innovative grinding technology laying the foundation for the project's success.

In the early stage of the project, SBM technical team visited the customer’s site in Inner Mongolia to conduct a detailed analysis of gangue material composition. Combined with local climatic conditions and site layout, they tailored a full-process technological route of "feed preprocessing - precise grinding - intelligent classification - environmental dust collection."

Targeting the characteristics of Inner Mongolia's gangue—high hardness, poor grindability, and significant carbon content fluctuation—SBM customized MTW European Trapezium Grinding Mill as the core equipment for the project. Adopting a unique roller structure and dynamic eddy current powder selection system, the equipment is equipped with high-quality wear-resistant rollers and an intelligent control system, enabling precise regulation of the finished product fineness at 50 mesh.

Gangue is uniformly, quantitatively, and continuously fed into the grinding chamber of the main unit via a variable-frequency belt feeder for grinding. The ground gangue powder is conveyed by the fan air flow to the powder separator for classification. Under the action of the analyzer, materials that do not meet the fineness requirements fall back into the grinding chamber for regrinding, while qualified powder is transported by the air flow through pipelines into the cyclone collector for separation and collection. The finished powder is discharged through the discharge device. The separated air flow enters the fan through the return air pipe at the upper end of the cyclone collector. Operating under negative pressure and airtight conditions, the production system is equipped with a pulse dust collector to prevent dust emission, fully complying with national environmental protection standards.

SBM provides one-stop full-process services for the project: a professional installation team is stationed on-site to complete equipment hoisting, pipeline connection, and system commissioning. In the later stage, an exclusive operation and maintenance (O&M) team is established to offer free operation training and equipment calibration services, along with an all-weather emergency response mechanism, ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the production line.

"SBM is synonymous with stability and reliability. Since the MTW European Trapezium Grinding Mill started operation, not only has the output stably met the standards, but the energy consumption is even lower than we expected," the customer praised highly after the project was commissioned and put into production.
